Iran became the 10th largest steelmaker in the world in 2021 / Iran produces more steel than France, Britain and Italy

Referring to the production of 28.5 million tons of steel in Iran during 2021, the World Steel Association announced that Iran is the tenth largest producer of steel in this period.
According to the economic correspondent of Tasnim news agency, the World Steel Association announced in a report that Iran’s steel production has reached 28.5 million tons in 2021 and Iran has been able to become the tenth largest steelmaker in the world this year.

Iran’s steel production in 2021 was higher than industrialized countries such as Italy, Spain, France, Canada, Britain and the Netherlands.

At the same time, Iran had produced 29 million tons of steel in the previous year, so that Iran’s steel production in 2021 has decreased by 1.8 percent compared to the previous year.

Iran ranks 10th in the world in terms of steel, while the country has been subject to maximum US sanctions as well as the consequences of the corona outbreak. In 2020, Iran was named the tenth largest steel producer in the world.

According to the report, China will be the largest producer of this product in 2021 with 1032 million tons of steel. India with 118 million tons and Japan with 96 million tons are ranked second and third, respectively.

Total world steel production in 2021 also grew by 3.7 percent over the previous year and reached 1950 million tons.
